Culter Fell

Length: 5.3 miles
Duration: 2 hours 54 minutes
Company: James Ramsay

A quick walk up the highest hill in South Lanarkshire with James Ramsay. This is the second time I have completed this walk, and I was much more sure of where I was going this time.

I do a circular route on Culter Fell rather than coming down the way I came. It starts by walking through a farm, and going through the gate at the back. This is what I wasn’t too sure of, as it does seem that you are entering private property. No one seemed to notice, and even if they did I don’t think they’d mind, it’s fairly obvious that we were harmless hikers.

This was the first time that James has been up Culter Fell, and I think he was pleasantly surprised. Most people go on about Tinto Hill all the time, and no many people tend to mention Culter Fell, even though it is the highest Point in South Lanarkshire, and just round the corner from Tinto.

During this trip I placed a geocache at the top of the hill to encourage people to go. So far I have had some great feed back from people who have found the cache thanking me for the pleasant walk.

Please check out the page for the Culter Fell geocache here.
